| Heather with her beloved Icelandic Sheepdogs, Kaepa frá Thytur Stadir (lft) and Gledi frá Thytur Stadir |
| Heather Jeanblanc was a long time member of the ISAA, a respected breeder and a former member of the club’s Board of Directors. She loved Icelandic Sheepdogs and was committed to preserving this breed by doing research, educating herself and learning as much about the history as she was able to do so. On June 12, 2009, Heather was killed in a car accident. She will be sorely missed by the ISD community internationally, especially in the Netherlands. She was very close to Ans Beer and had an extensive collection of historical documents from Ms. Beer's many years in breeding the Iceland Dog. She truly loved the breed. Following Heather's death, the ISAA Board of Directors was asked to consider establishing a memorial fund in Heather's name. We have decided to establish a fund where anyone can donate in memory of or to honor a person, special canine or special occasion. The donations may be earmarked for education or health and genetics or be left as a general donation. You may donate in the memory of a friend or loved one (including canines) or to honor a someone (including canines) who is living, perhaps as a gift or to celebrate a special event. The purpose is to provide people with an avenue to support the work of the ISAA on behalf of the Icelandic Sheepdog. If you would like to make a donation, please send a check or money order to: ISAA Treasurer Judi Vittetoe 24117 E. Rosewood Newman Lake, WA 99025 Please include the name of the person or canine, whether it is in memory of (if they are deceased) or in honor of (if they are living), the occasion (if applicable) and your name if you would like to be named or listed as anonymous. Please specify whether you would like your donation to go to Health and Genetics, Education, or a general donation. Thank you for your generous support. ISAA BOD |
