The ISAA is the parent club for the Icelandic Sheepdog under the AKC and is working towards full AKC recognition. As our
membership continues to grow, we strive to increase the professionalization of standards and services provided by the club. Consistent,
proficient and fair application of breeding rules and regulations is one of the primary commitments of the ISAA Breeding Review and
Compliance Committee (BRCC). To that end, the BRCC is working to correct discrepancies in documents and on the website to bring
them in line and up to date in support of our ultimate mission; the preservation of the Icelandic Sheepdog through sound breeding practices.

A new breeder information page is being introduced for a number of reasons, including:


  •   To improve, clarify and streamline information for breeders and stud dog owners to ensure they have the information necessary to
  •   become, or maintain their standing as, an ISAA approved breeder/stud dog owner;
  •   To build a health information database that will ensure a continuity of information; and,
  •   To encourage member breeders/stud dog owners to become more familiar with the internationally recognized goals regarding
  •    Icelandic Sheepdog breeding best practices in order to improve their breeding programs.



As a first step in that process, the ISAA Breeding Review and Compliance Committee (BRCC), with the support of the ISAA Board of
Directors (BOD), is launching a new procedure for breeders/stud owners to be listed on the breeder/stud page. This process is being
introduced to ensure that breeders are aware of and agree to follow the required practices and procedures to become and remain an
approved ISAA breeder/stud dog owner. To learn more about the breeder agreement, please click on the button below entitled "Breeder

All of the breeders listed on this page meet the guidelines set forth by the ISAA and are supported by the club. We encourage you to
purchase a puppy from one of the breeders listed on this page. We cannot insure that any health tests are completed by breeders who are
not ISAA Approved Breeders. Additionally, the ISAA supports those breeders who have the courage, honesty and foresight to openly
register their dogs with the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC).

CHIC breeders are listed first, by order of date of enrollment and will be indicated by the CHIC symbol.
